It's probably not THE first feature to be released as free download BUT it's the first MAJOR film released as a free download. A friend predicted that within 5 years songs will be free and money will be earned in other ways-- appearance fees and live events mainly he predicted. I had a hard time agreeing seeing his forecast come to fruition but with this new news...maybe he got something.
