MAKE FLASH (FLV) FILES without SORENSON SQUEEZE or other COMPRESSION SOFTWARE
************************************************************************************
Just released hours ago...a free web-based Flash (FLV) compression website. It will convert all video file formats (mov, wmv, mpeg, swf, rm, etc) into one hugely popular web video format, Flash FLV.

The conversions to FLV video files are done online and there is no need to buy or install any software for video files under 20MB. There are no compression settings to tweak, just three simple steps:

1--Browse and upload
2--convert
3--save file to desktop (right-click)

You may never ever need to buy Sorenson Squeeze or Wildform Flix Pro Flash compression software again! As long as the video files you upload are under 20MB in file size, your conversions to Flash FLV format are completely free.

Want to know how to host your own FLV files and NOT pay for an expensive delivery service? Visit again soon becuase that secret will be revealed next. While you wait, go to Vencoder.pacificwhistle.com to get your free file conversions to Flash FLV video format.

INTERNET VIRAL VIDEOS INSPIRE TV SPECIAL on BRAVO
************************************************************************************
Video Blogs now have an Emmy Category....so I guess it's high time we actually get those internet videos on TV. And that's exactly what the cable channel Bravo plans to do this coming Thursday and throughout November 2005.

Bravo's announcement on website--

Outrageous and Contagious: Viral Video
Thursday, November 17 @ 11/10c

"These days, who can escape the stream of emails featuring men dancing around their living rooms in chicken suits or Chinese students singing to "The Backstreet Boys" from their dorm room? They're funny, smart, addictive — and they're spreading.

Viral videos infiltrate in-boxes all over the world on a daily basis and for the first time, Bravo will premiere these videos on television in this half-hour special and take an unprecedented look at some of the funniest and wildest viral videos that up until now, have only been seen on your computer."

Here is Bravo's air schedule for Outrageous and Contagious: Viral Video. Dr. Joe Vitale and I will be watching. Will you?

I restructured my newsletter archives to be more user friendly. Under each issue's link, I added that newsletter's list of contents. This will simplify searching and provides an insight into what new list sign ups can expect. Check it out. Some of the topics I've covered surprised even me.

What's Video Coding? Well, it makes your video html code automatically for you. Do you want an embed? Text link? Image-link to embedded player? This does it all for you and more. This resource website is best for users who host their own videos but some video hosting services also work with it.

1-- We've just included FLV capability--just upload FLV files to your domain and use our code to embed, link or link to an embed(my favorite). And it works like this:
FreeVideoCoding.com

2-- Capability for MOV poster movie embeds available too.

3-- All formats have option now to link to embed--very very cooooool. Choosing this option cuts any preloading crap that happens before viewers click play.

I also have sample files available online for those who are unsure exactly how it works. FreeVideoCoding.com

SHINING in the EYE OF THE BEHOLDER: HORROR OR FAMILY COMEDY?

What do you see? Do you see a promo for a horror film or a family comedy?

The footage is the same. Footage from a horror film now voices itself as a comedy. How did this happen? How is it that the same facial expressions have one meaning in one context and yet another meaning when placed in a new context? Did the facial expressions and voice tones change? Or did our perception of them change?

Obviously, our perception of the exact same video footage changed. What made our perceptions change? The music? Editing? Voice over? Or was it something else?

I'd argue it's not just one thing. The video editor of this trailor has a keen sense of visual communication--this is certain. He either picked a movie with heavy father-son images or he picked this movie and choose the father-son theme. But probably his main goal was to twist the viewer's cemented perceptions of "murder and mayhem" and plug in the opposite emotions, love and happiness, just to prove to us that it could be done and done well. This mind bending twist on our preset knowledge is what underlies the success of this trailor, and in my opinion makes it a triumphant video remix.

After picking a story that will provide the most dynamic twist, the editor then set about cementing the new emotions with careful cherry-picking of the movie's scenes. He chose a music track that's conducive to a family comedy. He then set about writing the narration while editing at the same time because it's obvious that the narrative plays off the images and vice-versa.

My hat is off to this video's editor, and really, the video's creator, Rob R. It's obvious he loves editing, has an intuitive grasp of visual communication, and spent a lot of time making a video that's only payoff is a shared enjoyment with others.

NOTE: The editor's name is Rob R. and he is located at www.ps260.com with a video blog at http://ps260.blogspot.com/ I highly recommend spending some time watching their video blog -- excellent, excellent, excellent stuff! And he gave me permission to share his video with you! Thanks Rob!
